Apprentice Plumber

Apprentice plumber is the unskilled plumber or the one who works at the lower end of worker chain but still has not got the proficiency that comes with experience. If we need to define in a few lines what the term apprentice plumber signifies then we can say that he is the one who performs a gradually increasing percentage of journey-level duties while learning the plumbing trade as a apprentice. Anybody aspiring to become a plumber has to go through this phase of being an apprentice plumber as he attends full time plumbing courses to attain his goal. This stage is just like the childhood in man’s life. You learn plumbing basics before you move out in the professional plumbing world just as you learn the hard facts of life as you grow up.

Main duties of an apprentice plumber

  1. Install, replace, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, equipment, appliances, controls, and fixtures, including sewer installations.
  2. Work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints to install, maintain, and repair facilities such as washing machines, vacuum breakers gas appliance safety controls, steam tables, plumbing fixtures, drains, sinks, sumps, circulatory pumps, water heaters, and showers.
  3. Survey gas safety devices and other plumbing equipment that may need repair or replacement.
  4. Install, maintain, and repair automatic fire-sprinkler systems.
  5. Prepare reports pertaining to the testing and maintenance of backflow devices, fire-sprinkler systems, and other plumbing facilities.
